What do I need when i bring puppy home?
Below are just "recommendations" to make bringing puppy home a little easier.

Car ride:

Towel or potty pad - in case puppy gets car sick.
no food or treats
Baby wipes
Water - if it will be more then a few hours of driving
Collar and leash - A collar with a mid range of 4-6" usually fits most our doodles
Box or crate - if you are driving alone and puppy gets restless.
Many times we put potty pads on the passenger floor and let puppy just rest down there within reach and view.
Puppies do best when held in the car for the first few rides.

Baby gates - are useful for dividing rooms.

Home:
Crate - (see our information page with recommendations on equipment in the menu) There is endless info on the internet about crate training.

Exercise pen - Can be very useful inside or out when you are not able to watch puppy and for over night.

Food - We are feeding Costco's Natures domain puppy food. It is in a light blue bag. We also use or have used the other Natures Domain foods as they are grain free and all life stages.

Treats -We do not use dog treats but we do use cheese sticks as a treat and raw hide bones. Some people do not think raw hide is safe but i have never had an issue so that's your call.

Nacy's all natural yogurt plain flavor - this is not a necessity but very good to have on hand as many puppies seem to lose their appetite when getting to a new home. the live cultures help tummies and keep them interested in eating. A couple heaping spoon fulls in a cup of food is good. Its hard to over dose them on Nacy's so be liberal.

Canned Pumpkin - can also have the same benefit as yogurt and help with constipation and diarrhea. Make sure it does not have spices just plain.

Chicken and rice - if you’re puppy is having tummy issues (runny stool, mild vomiting) or if it’s lack of appetite is worrying you, try a few meals of plain boiled chicken and plain white rice (instant or long grain) you can also offer the broth.
