Doodle and Poodle information:
We specialize in beautiful pet quality, mini, micro Goldendoodles and mini Poodles.
Mini Goldendoodles and Mini Poodles are a hobby and a joy for us, we love what we do.
Mini Goldendoodles, Mini Poodles are our pets and we only have a few breeding doodles so our litters are very limited.
About the Mini Goldendoodle
The Goldendoodle is not a purebred dog.
It is a cross between the Golden Retriever and the Poodle.
Goldendoodles, the popular cross between golden retrievers and poodles, were first intentionally bred in the 1990s as larger versions of the "cockapoo." Goldendoodles, as a rule, are intelligent, loyal, loving family dogs. They can be bred in a variety of manners, resulting in a wide range of appearances and differences in temperament. Well-trained, well-loved Goldendoodles are some of the most personable and enjoyable canine companions. All Goldendoodles have a high potential for possessing "hybrid vigor," a health and vitality commonly found when crossing breeds within a species.
Smaller sizes of Goldendoodles are achieved sometimes by surgical insemination or artificial insemination, but not all breeders perform this method of breeding. The size theory is that they will be somewhere in between the Miniature Poodle's size and Golden Retriever's size.
The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed.
Ask the breeder you contact which method of breeding they used to produce the Mini Goldendoodle. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
About the Miniature Poodle
The name "Poodle" most likely came out of the German word "Pudel," which means "one who plays in water." The "Poodle clip" was designed by hunters to help the dogs swim more efficiently. They would leave hair on the leg joints to protect them from extreme cold and sharp reeds.
Hunters in Germany and France used the Poodle as a gundog/hunting dogs and as a retriever of waterfowl and to sniff out truffles lying underground in the woods.
The French started using the breed as a circus performer because of the dog's high intelligence and trainability. The breed became very popular in France, which led to the common name "French Poodle," but the French people actually called the breed the "Caniche," meaning "duck dog.”
The Toy and Miniature Poodle varieties were bred down from larger dogs, today known as Standard Poodles. In the 18th century, smaller Poodles became popular with royal people.
The three official sizes are the Toy, Miniature and Standard Poodle.
The Miniature Poodle is good for apartment life. It will be calm indoors if it receives enough exercise. It will do okay without a yard.
The Miniature Poodle is an intelligent, joyful companion dog. It can be trained to a high degree and is very willing and happy to please its handler. Comical and clever, it is often used as a circus dog.
The more intelligent a dog is, the more it needs its mind occupied. This breed cannot live outside in a kennel. It needs to be part of the family.
